So, it’s safe to say that we are very familiar with the CBD manufacturing process! In this article, we will be sharing this knowledge with you so you can understand exactly what goes into your products.
How Does the CBD Manufacturing Process Work?
The first step to manufacturing private label CBD products is hemp cultivation. We grow our hemp plants organically in bio soil without any use of pesticides, herbicides, or GMOs.
Next, we extract the CBD from these hemp plants using supercritical CO2 extraction. This allows us to produce full-spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum CBD, and CBD isolate. To find out more about these types of extract, check out this article.
When we have our extracts ready, the manufacturing process can begin. We produce each of our white label CBD products slightly differently, so we will cover each of these separately below.
CBD Oil
The first step to manufacturing private label CBD oil is heating the CBD extract. Once heated, we blend the extract with a carrier oil – this will be either hemp seed oil or MCT oil. Lastly, we add any flavourings or terpenes needed for the specific white label CBD oil that we are making.
CBD E-Liquid
When manufacturing CBD e-liquids, we must first heat up propylene glycol (PG) which is an ingredient often used in foods, drinks, and pharmaceuticals, and always used in e-liquids. It is required to create the ‘throat hit’ that you experience when inhaling the vapour from an e-cigarette. Next, we add the CBD extract, and lastly, we add any flavours or terpenes specific to the CBD private label product.
CBD Topicals or Cosmetics
With CBD white label topicals, the ingredients can vary specific to the different products. For example, a CBD body butter will have a different manufacturing process to a CBD cooling gel. We won’t go into detail about every single product (as the list of topicals we can produce is endless). Instead, we will cover the basic process that all products will follow.
Firstly, we blend the CBD extract in during the oil phase of the process. We add other components in different phases throughout the manufacturing process depending on whether each ingredient is water-soluble or oil-soluble. However, essential oils such as lavender or chamomile are always added at the end of the process.
